As a veteran of the BB-Gun wars, I went totally ape*beep* when I saw the NSG Splatmaster advertised
in a sporting goods catalog in 1986. I immediately bought two (they even came with goggles!) and
started playing with my brother and friend.
Early on, I was lucky enough to find a BIG group of outlaw players and two supply stores in SoCal,
and we played pickup paintball about once a month with upwards of 20 people. To this day
that was the best paintball I have ever played, -all pump, all hits count on your honor. It was in
those days that I also earned my nickname. Since I had the crappiest gun on the field, I had to
really wait for players to come within relatively close range and then I would pop out firing
and scare the bejesus out of them.
I have been playing paintball ever since those days, but it wasn't until I discovered scenario play
in 2000 that I really reconnected with that initial joy of the game. These days a lot of folks don't
trust me on the field, and I can dig that, but I am actually very trustworthy. Really. I am. For real... |
